The top two movies at the box office were the same this weekend as the last one, with Gravity in first place for the third straight weekend and Captain Phillips at Number Two for the second.
The horror remake Carrie, starring Chloe Grace Moretz as the bullied teen who bloodily unleashes her telekinetic powers after being humiliated at the senior prom, and Julianne Moore as her mother, opened in third place, just edged out by Captain Phillips. Co-starring are Alex Russell and Ansel Elgort.
The Sylvester Stallone and Arnold Schwarzenegger prison break movie Escape Plan debuted at Number Five. James Caviezel, Vincent D'Onofrio, Vinnie Jones and Amy Ryan co-star. The drama The Fifth Estate, which follows the early days of WikiLeaks, culminating with the controversial release of U.S. secret documents, flopped with an eighth-place opening. It stars Benedict Cumberbatch as WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange, and co-stars Laura Linney, Anthony Mackie, Stanley Tucci, Daniel Bruhl and David Thewlis.
